Once again Google Earth illustrates the highway having to take the long way around in order to avoid the steep inclines that have virtually no effect upon the flow of oil through the pipeline.

More Google Earth, showing that the Yukon River isn't all that much farther for the rider already sick and tired of gravel. The bad news - there are almost as many miles of gravel north of the river for the rider whose goal is the Arctic Circle.
